Getting here:
Lordington Farm (postcode PO18 9DX) is situated just off the B2146 between Petersfield and Chichester. Access to the lavender and parking is ONLY via Lordington from the B2146. Some satnav systems wrongly direct vehicles up Monument Lane or up Park Lane past Sindles Farm. These are both dead ends and there is NO ACCESS for vehicles or pedestrians along this route! What3words location is ///factually.jingles.stable
Opening Times:
We are open from 10-4 each day. Early bird tickets are now available – or why not treat someone with a voucher?
Refreshments:
Refreshments are on sale all week. Choose from a mouthwatering selection of cakes, traybakes and savoury snacks (homemade by the fabulous team at Lordington Park Tea Rooms) plus kids’ lunchboxes and hot and cold drinks available. Popular last year, we are once again offering Pimms and lemonade (the quintessential drink of English summer!) plus fresh local strawberries and cream. The fantastic @thetricycle will also be back with a delicious selection of homemade ice creams – including lavender flavour! – from Caroline’s Dairy.
Products and Payments:
Our pop up shop will be open all week selling a wide range of our lavender products, including our high grade,100% pure essential oil and the ever-popular pillow spray. Plants will also be available, while stocks last. Due to our rural location, signal for our card machines can be unreliable at times so bringing cash can be quicker and easier for you.
Charities:
Every year, we are proud to support some brilliant local charities, all of which do amazing work and support so many people. We are also delighted to offer free mindfulness sessions for charity, in collaboration with The Mindful Movement Coach. This year’s charities will be announced soon.
Entrance Fees:
Early bird ticket pricing reflects a freeze in prices again this year! Tickets bought nearer the time or on the day will be a bit more. Early bird pricing: Adults £8 / Children £2 / Under 3s FREE / Registered Carers FREE. Standard tickets: Adults £9 / Children £3. There is no charge for the twice-daily lavender talks, hay play, kids’ games and activities or tractor and trailer ride from car park to lavender field. FREE PARKING.
Accessibility
There is a disabled car park available: please make marshalling staff aware on entry if you are a blue badge holder and they will direct you to the right place just 150 metres from the field. Please note that access to the lavender field is still via a steep and uneven slope that may be unsuitable for wheelchairs and some disabled visitors.
The walk from the main car park to the lavender field is approximately 800 metres via a steep, grassy slope that is uneven in places. This may be unsuitable for some pushchairs: we have a tractor and trailer service available to assist with this.
If you are arriving by motorbike, you will be directed to use the accessible car park.
Toilets
There are toilet facilities available on site. An accessible toilet with baby change facilities is available in the disabled car park.
Dogs:
We welcome all our four-legged friends on leads and just ask that dog owners are respectful of others. Please be aware that shade is limited. Dog bowls with fresh drinking water will be available near the refreshments stall and we love to see your brilliant doggy pictures!
Photography:
We encourage our guests to embrace the perfect photo opportunities at Lordington Lavender. Cameras are a must when visiting! Please note that professional photography and drones are not permitted during Open Week and photographs are not authorised for commercial use.
We also have professional family photographer (and lavender shoot expert!) Lucy Merritt with us all week to capture those special moments and memories, with the best backdrop you could wish for. Mini-shoots are just £39 weekdays/£49 at weekends. Limited pre-booked slots are still available, with on-the-day slots too, subject to availability. Lucy’s photographs are stunning and with years of experience she has developed the perfect knack of capturing little ones’ expressions and those special family connections. Add your Lavender Photography Experience to your Open Days booking during checkout.
Please note that professional photography and drones are not permitted during Open Week and photographs are not authorised for commercial use. To make an enquiry about private hire for photography, please contact Victoria at [email protected]
Weather:
Our lavender loves growing on its sunny, south-facing slope. Please be aware that shade is limited. We recommend sun cream, hats, parasols and full-length clothing if the weather is hot – especially for children! In wet weather, areas of the field can become slippery. Please take care and wear appropriate footwear in any weather.
Tractor and Trailer:
We are delighted to be able to bring back our beloved tractor and trailer trips to and from the car park this year for those that prefer not to walk. The short ride is included in your admission price. Please note that waiting times may vary due to demand and please give priority to those with most need, including young children and pushchairs.
Lavender Talks:
Andrew or another of the team will be giving informative talks about the lavender in the marquee at the top of the lavender field. These will be at 11 and 2 daily. Come and find out about how Lordington Lavender started as well as the growing and harvesting process. You will also hear about our wildlife protection and promotion work as well as having the chance to ask questions – and pick up some tips about growing your own lavender at home!
Family Fun – Kids’ activities:
Back due to popular demand – we are very excited to offer our hay play area for children under 12. Rural play at its best! Adult supervision is required at all times. Additional activities for children will be announced soon! (We are excited…)
First Aid:
There will be a medic on site all week. Please go to the first aid tent or speak to a member of staff for any assistance.
